Principal Systems Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will lead the development and integration of propulsion engine control systems, ensuring requirements‑driven, high‑reliability solutions across gas turbine programs.

Rate Range: $90/hour to $93/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Principal Systems Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Lead requirements‑based engineering for propulsion engine control systems, including analysis, decomposition, validation, and change management.

• Provide technical leadership for engine control systems and component development across gas turbine programs.

• Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, chief engineers, and project management to ensure alignment and delivery.

• Support system integration, field issue troubleshooting, and supplier technical oversight.

• Drive reuse of requirements and features across programs to improve cost, schedule, and development efficiency.

• Mentor and guide junior engineers while supporting Agile program planning and execution.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or related STEM discipline).

• Minimum 10+ years of professional engineering experience.

• Deep expertise in propulsion engine control systems, including requirements analysis, decomposition, and validation for gas turbine applications.

• Proven technical leadership experience supporting system integration, stakeholder coordination, and mentoring within safety‑critical aerospace programs.

Pay Details: $90.00 to $93.00 per hour
