Seatbelt Development Engineer

Akkodis, Inc. is seeking a full-time direct hire Seatbelt Development Engineer for a hybrid role with a global industry leader north of Detroit MI.  The Seatbelt Development Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and launch of automotive seatbelt systems.  Qualifications include 7+ years of seatbelt development and a Bachelor degree.

Salary Range:  $100-115K per year plus annual bonus; salary negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Seatbelt Development Engineer Job Responsibilities Include :

 

• Leads component and system engineering activities to meet safety, performance, cost, and timing targets while ensuring compliance with global regulations and customer requirements.

• Works cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to deliver robust, production-ready restraint solutions.

• Lead end-to-end technical development of seatbelt systems

• Own design decisions, system integration, and technical direction

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, customer, and internal requirements

• Drive validation, testing, and readiness for production launch

• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on cost, quality, and timing targets

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering

• 7+ years within Seatbelt design and development
