    The Role

    In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high quality RESTful APIs and integration services using Microsoft .NET and Azure API Management. You will contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and well-structured integration components that support broader platform and application needs. This position involves close collaboration with architects, developers, and other technical teams to ensure solutions meet required standards for performance, reliability, and maintainability.

    Please note this is a contract position for an initial 3 month term with potential for extension. The role is based in Perth and cannot be performed remotely.


    Responsibilities

    ·      Design, build, and maintain backend RESTful APIs and services using Microsoft .NET

    ·      Design, build, and maintain Azure API Management components and other Azure Integration Services

    ·      Integrate API and service layers with Azure Cosmos DB and other data sources

    ·      Ensure solutions are performant, secure, stable, and aligned with architectural standards

    ·      Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement activities

    ·      Maintain strong engineering quality through automated testing, CI/CD, and solid code ownership

    ·      Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across API and integration layers


    Experience

    ·      5+ years of hands‑on software development experience at a senior level

    ·      Strong capability in API development using Microsoft .NET frameworks

    ·      Solid understanding of RESTful API design and the OpenAPI Specification

    ·      Working knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB or similar NoSQL data platforms

    ·      Strong grounding in CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment workflows

    ·      Experience implementing automated testing across API layers

    ·      Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical issues

    ·      Comfortable working in a collaborative, team‑centred, and highly interactive environment

    ·      Exposure to .NET 8 or .NET 10 or similar modern frameworks is beneficial

    ·      Experience contributing to medium to large scale technology projects

    Profile

    Contract role (3 months, Perth‑based) for a senior developer skilled in .NET API development, React micro‑frontends, and Azure Cosmos DB. Build scalable, secure services and UIs, contribute to architecture and CI/CD, and collaborate closely within a high‑performing engineering team.
