What our client requires:

• 10+ years’ experience as a Solution Designer, Developer, Tester or Support in IT
• 3+ years’ hands-on experience with Big Data/Data Lake services (Cloud & On-Prem)
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, PySpark, Kafka, and DynamoDB
• Proven experience building near real-time data pipelines

Ideal:

• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP or IBM Cloud
• Strong understanding of containerisation, virtualisation, infrastructure & networking
• Familiarity with Agile, Kanban or Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Previous consulting or stakeholder engagement experience

The Role

Due to ongoing digital transformation initiatives, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and support scalable data solutions across cloud and on-prem environments. You’ll work within a collaborative team to deliver high-performing data pipelines, enable real-time integration, and develop future-ready data platforms to meet business needs.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Design, build and support batch and near real-time data pipelines
• Develop solutions using PySpark, Python, SQL, Kafka, DynamoDB
• Collaborate with architects and developers across cloud and data teams
• Implement high availability, fault-tolerant solutions in Cloud and On-Prem environments
• Lead or support Proof of Concepts and technical demos
• Mentor junior consultants within the project team
