Your Role
Main Responsibility Area: The D&O Expert/ Feature Testing Engineer is responsible for validating, testing, and optimising 4G/5G RAN features in lab and pre-production environments, with focus on feature readiness, performance, interoperability, and deployment quality for a major operator in Australia. The role supports new feature introduction, RF and parameter validation, KPI impact assessment, and troubleshooting across multi-technology radio networks, ensuring features are verified before field rollout.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform lab-based validation and feature testing for LTE and 5G RAN features.
Assess feature behaviour, software loads, and parameter changes for impact on network performance, stability, and deployment readiness.
Support functional, regression, and pre-production testing for new features and software upgrades.
Validate feature performance across key areas such as accessibility, retainability, mobility, throughput, latency, and service continuity.
Review technical documentation and convert requirements into test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
Execute tests, collect evidence, analyse KPIs, and prepare clear test reports with findings and recommendations.
Troubleshoot issues using logs, alarms, counters, traces, and protocol analysis tools.
Raise and track defects with clear technical detail and support root cause investigation with product, integration, and support teams.
Provide technical input for go/no-go decisions, rollout readiness, and risk assessment.
Work with cross-functional teams including integration, optimization, performance, and customer teams to ensure successful feature introduction
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant telecom experience in RF, RAN optimisation, feature testing, system validation, or network performance.
- Hands-on exposure to LTE and 5G feature validation in lab, integration, or customer project environments.
