    What we need from you

    • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Civil, or Hydraulic Engineering (essential).

    • Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering procedures and practices in the water industry.

    • Proven experience in investigation, concept, and detailed design of mechanical infrastructure, and in auditing designs prepared by others.

    • Demonstrated ability to execute complex and critical engineering investigations in the mechanical discipline.

    • Experience developing and reviewing technical and infrastructure standards.


    Role

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide high-level technical expertise across the organisation, ensuring our water and wastewater infrastructure meets best-practice engineering standards. You will deliver expert investigation, design review, technical governance, and advisory services while embedding safety, compliance, and innovation into every aspect of your work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide technical expertise in mechanical engineering across all stages of the asset lifecycle.

    • Lead and support Safety in Design processes to ensure WHS risks are eliminated or minimised.

    • Review, develop, and maintain technical standards and guidelines for mechanical engineering.

    • Liaise with engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.

    • Undertake investigations, audits, and design reviews to ensure compliance with corporate and legislative requirements.

    • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement.

    • Support operational and maintenance strategies, including training and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
