The Role

The SharePoint Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the migration of document libraries from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint Online. You will lead the development of high-level solution architecture and ensure alignment with modern Microsoft 365 best practices.

This role will be central to establishing a clear technical roadmap, balancing user needs, platform capabilities, and long-term maintainability.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-level solution architecture and migration strategy from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint Online
• Analyse existing SharePoint 2010 structure, content, and document libraries
• Define site architecture, metadata strategy, and information governance in SharePoint Online
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project stakeholders and delivery team
• Ensure the solution is scalable, secure, and aligned with Microsoft 365 best practices
• Support the selection and use of tools such as Sharegate for migration execution
• Collaborate with business units to understand requirements and ensure a user-focused design

 

Experience Desired:

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering SharePoint Online solutions at the enterprise level
• Proven track record migrating legacy environments, specifically SharePoint 2010
• Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Power Platform integration
• Experience with governance, security, metadata planning, and information architecture
• Familiarity with Sharegate and modern SharePoint Patterns and Practices (PnP)
• Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
