    The Role

    We are looking for an experienced Senior Solutions Architect with a strong background in data migration to lead critical projects involving the migration of enterprise systems and sensitive data. This role requires expertise in D365, familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (or the ability to learn it quickly), and exceptional stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of architecture experience, demonstrate leadership in managing other Solution Architects, and present a credible, professional presence in front of senior stakeholders. Candidates must be Australian Citizens and hold (or be eligible to obtain) a Baseline or NV1 security clearance.

     

    This Contract position is based in Canberra, so the ideal candidate will either live in ACT, or be happy to commute for at least 3 days per week in the office. This is a long-term engagement which is likely to last beyond 12 months.

     

    Responsibilities

     Data Migration Leadership

    • Architect and deliver end-to-end data migration strategies for enterprise-scale systems.
    • Ensure the secure handling of sensitive data throughout migration processes, adhering to best practices and compliance requirements.
    • Address challenges such as data quality, integrity, and system interoperability during migrations.

     

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, including executives and decision-makers.
    • Effectively communicate technical solutions, risks, and progress to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
    • Build confidence and credibility with high-level stakeholders through strong expertise and polished presentation skills.

     

    Team Leadership

    • Lead, mentor, and manage other Solution Architects, fostering collaboration and skill development.
    • Oversee architectural governance across projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for solution design and technical delivery.

     

    Technology Expertise

    • Leverage in-depth experience with D365 to design and implement complex migration solutions.
    • Utilize or quickly gain proficiency in Microsoft Fabric to support data integration and analytics needs.
    • Lead system integration efforts, ensuring seamless interoperability between platforms and tools.

     

    Compliance and Security

    • Implement solutions that meet Australian security and compliance standards, ensuring the secure management of sensitive data.
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to data migration and system security.
    • Ensure that architectural solutions are audit-ready and align with organizational policies.

     

    Skills | Experience

     Experience

    • At least 10 years’ experience as a Solutions Architect, with a focus on data migration and integration.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects involving sensitive or high-value data.
    • Strong track record of successfully leading teams of architects and technical professionals.

     

    Technical Expertise

    • Mandatory: Extensive experience with D365 implementation and migration.
    • Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, or ability to learn and adapt quickly to its ecosystem.
    • Strong understanding of modern data architecture, ETL processes, and integration technologies.

     

    Security and Compliance

    • Familiarity with Australian security and compliance standards for sensitive data management.
    • Experience working on secure projects requiring Baseline or NV1 clearance (or ability to obtain clearance).

     

    Leadership and Communication

    • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on presenting to senior stakeholders and boards.

     

     Clearance Requirements

    • Must be an Australian Citizen.
    • Hold a Baseline or NV1 clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
