• 8+ years’ experience in solution architecture, with strong focus on data analytics and data platforms
• Proven experience designing scalable, secure data architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, and privacy frameworks
•  Ability to influence stakeholders and drive architectural decisions aligned to business outcomes
•   Demonstrated ability to manage change and enable continuous improvement

About Our Client:

Our client is a Queensland Government department responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making through modern analytics platforms, supporting strategic, operational, and regulatory outcomes across the organisation. 

Role Description:

• The Solutions Architect (Data Analytics) is responsible for leading the design, evaluation, and implementation of enterprise-level data analytics solutions.
• This role ensures data solutions are aligned with business requirements, technology standards, and governance frameworks.
•  You will provide expert architectural guidance, assess solution options, and support the delivery of scalable, high-performing analytics platforms.
•  The role works closely with project managers, data engineers, analysts, and senior stakeholders to enable current and future state analytics capabilities.

 

What be you’ll doing?

• Design end-to-end data analytics architectures across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments
• Translate business and technical data requirements into secure, scalable analytics solutions
•  Perform options analysis, market scans, and proof-of-concepts for modern analytics platforms
•  Identify architecture risks, issues, and dependencies, providing clear recommendations
•  Develop cost estimates for solution delivery and ongoing operational support
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards
• Document data integration, analytics workflows, pipelines, and solution designs

Your Skills:

• Strong solution architecture experience within data and analytics domains
•  Expertise in cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (ADF, Synapse), AWS, or GCP
• Experience with modern analytics platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Purview
•  Proficiency in data modelling, integration patterns, and analytics solution design
•  Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level communication
•  Ability to produce architecture artefacts, gap analysis, and solution recommendations
• Familiarity with Power BI and data visualisation tools
• Experience with Technology Business Management (TBM) frameworks (desirable)
