Role

The System Administrator is responsible for provisioning, maintaining, and supporting Windows, SQL, and Web platforms across on-premise and cloud environments. This role provides operational support, automation, and technical advice to partner departments while ensuring systems are secure, compliant, and highly available.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Provision, maintain, and support Windows, SQL, and Web server platforms (on-premise and cloud)

·      Resolve client job requests and deliver ongoing infrastructure project work

·      Participate in rotating on-call rosters, after-hours support, and security patching activities

·      Administer and support Azure and AWS environments

·      Develop automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, Terraform, Puppet, and infrastructure-as-code templates

·      Perform system monitoring, reporting, and compliance checks (availability, vulnerabilities, software compliance)

·      Administer Active Directory and Microsoft System Center tools (SCCM, SCOM)

·      Communicate effectively with clients, providing timely and accurate technical advice on hosting solutions

·      Maintain high-quality technical documentation and system records

·      Ensure compliance with security standards, architecture guidelines, change control, and incident/problem management processes

·      Investigate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead

Required Skills:

·      Strong experience in Windows Server, SQL Server, and Web server administration

·      Azure and AWS cloud administration

·      Automation and scripting using PowerShell, T-SQL, Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code templates

·      System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)

·      Active Directory administration

·      Experience with security patching, monitoring, and compliance reporting

·      Strong communication and documentation skills

 

Desirable:

·      Experience with Puppet or similar configuration management tools

·      Exposure to enterprise security frameworks and governance environments

·      Experience supporting large-scale or multi-tenant hosting platforms

·      Relevant Microsoft, Azure, or AWS certifications
