Position Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Toronto, ON

Working Model: 4 days per week onsite

Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 per annum plus bonus and benefits

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for a Senior Production Support Leader within a Fixed Income trading technology environment. The role is closely aligned to the front office, providing high-touch support to trading desks and ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of critical trading applications.

 

You will act as a key escalation point for production incidents, leading response efforts, driving root cause analysis, and partnering with technology teams to continuously improve platform resilience. This position blends technical hands-on expertise with leadership and stakeholder management responsibilities.

 

This is a highly visible role that requires both strong capital markets knowledge and the ability to operate effectively under pressure in a real-time trading environment.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-touch production support to Fixed Income trading desks (Rates and Credit), ensuring system availability and performance

  • Act as the primary escalation point for major incidents, leading triage, resolution, and communication

  • Drive incident, problem, and change management processes aligned with ITIL best practices

  • Conduct root cause analysis and lead post-incident reviews to improve system stability

  • Partner closely with trading, development, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues and deliver enhancements

  • Develop deep expertise in trading applications, system architecture, and data flows

  • Monitor production environments using enterprise tools and proactively identify risks

  • Leverage metrics and reporting to drive continuous improvement in production stability

  • Ensure accurate tracking, prioritization, and resolution of production issues

  • Lead initiatives to enhance automation, tooling, and operational processes

  • Build strong relationships with front-office stakeholders as a trusted technology partner

  • Provide mentorship, leadership, and subject matter expertise to support team members

 

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in IT within a capital markets environment

  • Strong knowledge of fixed income products including Rates, Credit, derivatives, and structured products

  • Hands-on understanding of the end-to-end trading lifecycle (market data, pricing, execution, booking, risk, clearing, and settlement)

  • Strong technical skills in Linux, SQL, and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Shell, Java, or Perl)

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M, Geneos, ServiceNow, Tableau)

  • Solid understanding of infrastructure components including servers, networks, and middleware

  • Proven experience working within ITIL frameworks (incident, problem, change, and event management)

  • Strong expertise in major incident management within a trading or real-time production environment

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills under pressure

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with trading desks and senior stakeholders

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive issues to resolution across multiple teams

 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with trading platforms such as Murex or similar systems

  • Exposure to cloud technologies (e.g., AWS) or distributed computing platforms

  • Experience supporting messaging systems (e.g., MQ, Solace, or market data platforms)

  • Familiarity with front-office trading tools such as Bloomberg TOMS

  • Knowledge of vendor platforms and integrations within capital markets ecosystems
