Intermediate Java Developer (Backend)

On behalf of our client, Akkodis is on the lookout for a seasoned Backend Engineer who thrives on ownership, craftsmanship, and complex problem-solving. You’ll be working alongside a team of senior platform engineers in a high performing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and building enhancements to our core services using Java 21, Kotlin, and/or JavaScript, always with performance, scalability, and maintainability in mind.

• Creating clean, well-architected RESTful APIs with Spring Boot, Spring Data, and modern backend frameworks.

• Working with PostgreSQL—from smart schema design to deep query tuning.

• Developing services for a distributed, microservices-based architecture using RabbitMQ and other messaging tools.

• Shipping code in containerized environments using Docker and orchestrated via Kubernetes.

• Contributing to our CI/CD pipelines and improving automation for a smoother dev experience.

• Upholding clean code principles, design patterns, and best practices.

• Keeping our core developer platform scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly.

• Bonus points if you’ve worked in fintech or have experience with accounting/ERP systems—that’s our jam.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer with Java (or Kotlin).

• Strong foundation in Spring Framework, SQL (PostgreSQL), and REST API design.

• Experience with NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure like AWS or Azure.

• A solid understanding of SDLC, microservices architecture, and cloud-native design.

• Passionate about technology. Excited to learn. Driven to deliver.
