Position: Intermediate UX Designer

Duration: 8 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.


About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Intermediate UX Designer to support the design and delivery of user-centered digital products and services. The successful consultant will collaborate with product owners, business analysts, service designers, developers, and stakeholders to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging user experiences across web and mobile platforms.

This assignment requires a strong understanding of UX design methodologies, user research practices, Agile delivery, design systems, and responsive design principles. The consultant will play a key role in translating user needs and business objectives into effective design solutions that enhance the overall customer experience.


Scope

  • Design effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces for digital products and services.

  • Apply user-centered design methodologies throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Conduct and facilitate user research, interviews, workshops, and usability testing activities.

  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, and information architecture artifacts.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to define and deliver design solutions.


Assignment Deliverables

  • User research plans and interview materials.

  • User Interview Topic Maps.

  • User Interview Scripts.

  • User Research Findings Reports.

  • User Interview Synthesis documentation (collection, aggregation, and analysis of observations).


Expertise Required

Must Have:

  • Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.

  • Ability to iterate your designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in participating in complex projects (products) of different sizes, ensuring alignment to plans, best practices and incorporating user-centred design processes and agile (scrum) methodologies.

  • Must have Figma experience.

  • Expertise in UX software such as JustInMind, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, and Zeplin. HTML5, CSS3, and JS skills (React, Angular, NodeJS), Azure DevOps are a plus.

  • Strong communication skills - lead meeting and present to stakeholders.

  • Prior experience with Service Design framework and established design systems.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with established design systems.

  • Knowledge of DABL (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Live) delivery methodology.

  • Accessibility compliance testing experience.
