Duration: 9 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Intermediate Web Specialist to support the design, development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of public-facing websites and internal intranet solutions. The successful consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, UX/UI specialists, content teams, architects, and technical resources to deliver modern, accessible, secure, multilingual, and user-centric web solutions.
This opportunity is ideal for a web professional with expertise in WordPress, open-source technologies, responsive design, accessibility compliance, and modern web development frameworks.
Scope
Develop comprehensive testing strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test datasets.
Perform functional, non-functional, integration, regression, security, accessibility, and user acceptance testing.
Execute testing of web applications, APIs, web services, reporting solutions, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products.
Validate data integrity through SQL queries, data reconciliation, and reporting verification.
Assignment Deliverables
Custom website components and templates aligned with UX/UI specifications.
Responsive website pages and web application interfaces.
Website graphics, navigation structures, and content presentation components.
WordPress implementations in production and staging environments.
Custom PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 solutions.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Hands on experience with standard web programming environments such as: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, PHP, and JavaScript Web frameworks (NodeJS, React, Vue, Angular).
Experience with Open-Source software initiatives such as: Linux, WordPress, WordPress Plugins, Drupal, Lucene-based search engines (Solr, Elasticsearch), Git, Apache.
Experience in interface design, implementation, and testing
Experience designing, creating websites for multiple languages and audiences
Experience in accessibility testing and knowledge of accessibility principles and internationally recognized guidelines (WCAG 2.1 Level AA (or above) standards)
Nice to Have:
Experience implementing role-based access control (RBAC) within Azure environments using Entra ID and Easy Auth.
Familiarity with LAMP architecture and related web hosting solutions.
Experience with IIS, Windows Server, and web hosting configurations.
