The Ontario Government Client is hiring an Application Support Specialist with expertise in middleware, ITIL practices, and DevOps methodologies to support 200+ applications in a shared hosting environment.
Duration: 6+ Months
Must Haves:
2+ years of experience with Oracle Solaris (Sun Solaris) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Middleware expertise, including IBM WebSphere Application Server/Liberty/NDM.
ITIL Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration Management).
Hands-on experience with OpenShift and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Urban Code Deploy).
Strong DevOps and containerized application management skills.
Responsibilities
Support hosting operations, including incident intake, triage, and service requests.
Manage security patching and endpoint security.
Provide expertise in middleware, network services, and cloud technologies.
Analyze operational data and optimize processes.
Skills
Middleware: IBM WebSphere, DataPower, Urban Code Deploy, OpenShift, Kubernetes.
ITIL: Incident and Change Management, tools like Remedy or ServiceNow.
Reporting: PowerBI and MS Office proficiency.
General: Strong communication, problem-solving, and initiative.
Experience
Public sector experience (OPS, BPS, or similar) preferred.
2+ years with Solaris/RHEL and middleware systems.
Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud solutions.
