Position: Senior Business Analyst
Duration: 3 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to provide comprehensive business analysis services supporting complex business and technology initiatives.
The successful consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, product owners and technical teams to identify, clarify and document business requirements and translate those needs into actionable requirements for technology solutions.
This role requires strong experience in requirements definition, Agile delivery, backlog refinement, stakeholder communication, business process analysis and data analysis, including hands-on experience connecting to and querying Oracle databases.
Scope
Gather, analyze, define and document detailed business and functional requirements.
Clarify ambiguities to ensure user stories and requirements are complete, prioritized and ready for development.
Act as a bridge between the Product Owner, business stakeholders and development teams.
Participate in backlog refinement and help prioritize work in alignment with business objectives.
Participate in and/or lead Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
Assignment Deliverables
Define, clarify and document business, functional and non-functional requirements.
Develop clear, complete and development-ready user stories and acceptance criteria.
Conduct requirements gathering and requirements elaboration sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
Develop current-state and future-state business process documentation.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Strong experience defining and clarifying business requirements, resolving ambiguities and ensuring user stories are clearly documented, prioritized and ready for development.
Strong experience with stakeholder communication, including communicating progress, changes, risks and issues.
Experience performing data analysis, including connecting to and querying Oracle databases to uncover insights into business functions.
Strong experience leading and conducting business analysis for complex I&IT initiatives.
Experience participating in and/or leading Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Sprint Retrospectives.
Experience with backlog refinement, user stories, acceptance criteria and task prioritization.
Nice to Have:
Experience developing business strategies, business cases, cost-benefit analyses and feasibility studies.
Experience facilitating requirements-gathering techniques such as JAD sessions, interviews and mockups.
