Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Specialist to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data architecture initiatives within a large-scale public sector environment.
The successful consultant will provide both strategic data architecture expertise and hands-on Power BI development services. This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of designing scalable modern data platforms, building enterprise semantic models, and delivering high-quality dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions that support operational and executive decision-making.
Scope
Develop and optimize Power BI semantic models, dashboards, reports, KPIs, and advanced DAX calculations to support business decision-making.
Design scalable data architecture, including data models, data flows, governance frameworks, security controls, and reporting standards.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, perform data analysis, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Integrate and manage data from Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and SQL Server environments.

Enterprise Power BI Semantic Models.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Minimum 7 years of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics experience.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
Minimum 7 years of data architecture experience.
Expert-level experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and enterprise data modeling.
Strong experience designing and developing enterprise semantic models and reporting architectures.
Advanced SQL development and enterprise data warehouse experience.
Expert knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schemas, and enterprise data warehouse design principles.
Strong expertise with:
o Databricks
o Azure Data Factory
o Azure Data Lake
o Azure Synapse Analytics
o SQL Server
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting government, healthcare, or broader public sector reporting initiatives.
Experience working within complex regulatory, governance, and data privacy environments.
Security Clearance
Required.
