Duration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to support the design, implementation, automation, and operation of enterprise cloud platforms and modern application environments.
The successful consultant will provide technical leadership across AWS cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, container platforms, CI/CD automation, security, and platform reliability. This role requires deep expertise in designing and supporting both containerized and traditional workloads while driving platform modernization and operational excellence.
Scope
Design, build, automate, and support enterprise cloud infrastructure and modern digital platforms.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and configuration management using Ansible.
Architect, deploy, and manage AWS environments, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and cost optimization.
Support both containerized and non-containerized workloads across enterprise environments.
Assignment Deliverables
AWS architecture, infrastructure, and deployment solutions.
Terraform modules, standards, and automation frameworks.
Ansible playbooks, roles, and deployment automation artifacts.
OpenShift ROSA cluster configurations and operational standards.
CI/CD pipelines and GitOps deployment frameworks.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Design, provision, and manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, subnets, security groups, IAM policies, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, Route 53, and CloudFront.
Architect multi-account AWS environments following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
Manage AWS cost optimization strategies including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and rightsizing.
Develop, maintain, and refactor Terraform modules and configurations for all cloud infrastructure.
Author and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for server configuration, application deployment, and compliance enforcement.
Operate and administer Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) clusters, including cluster upgrades, node scaling, and add-on management.
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Service) for infrastructure and application delivery.
Nice to Have:
Platform modernization and cloud migration experience.
Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), or resilience planning experience.
Experience improving system reliability, operational efficiency, monitoring, observability, automation, or service resilience.
Security Clearance
