About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack – Software Developer to provide specialized expertise supporting the sustainment, enhancement, and modernization of large‑scale public health information technology solutions within a complex public‑sector environment. The successful consultant will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing mission‑critical systems that support disease surveillance, immunization tracking, environmental health monitoring, and legislative compliance. These solutions directly support public health protection, prevention initiatives, and mandatory reporting requirements under legislation.

Scope

• Design, develop, enhance, and sustain large‑scale public‑sector health IT applications and integration services

• Support secure data exchange, APIs, and middleware used for provincial immunization and public health systems

• Perform analysis, development, upgrades, performance tuning, and production support for mission‑critical systems.

Assignment Deliverables

• Developed and maintained application components, microservices, and RESTful APIs

• Technical design documents, programming specifications, and system documentation

• Tested, secure, and performance‑optimized code aligned with accessibility standards (WCAG/AODA)

• Integration and upgrade support aligned with vendor releases and evolving business requirements.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in full‑stack software development for large, complex enterprise applications

• Strong experience with Java / Java EE, Spring/Hibernate, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS

• Proven experience with RESTful and SOAP APIs, JSON/XML, and microservices architecture

• Experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL databases, SQL/PLSQL, and performance tuning

• Public‑sector or healthcare IT experience, including large‑scale, regulated environments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with middleware, message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and API gateways

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Git/GitLab, Informatica, Elastic Stack

• Experience supporting high‑volume, mission‑critical public‑sector health systems.
