Duration: 3 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Specialist to support comprehensive privacy risk assessments, policy alignment, and privacy compliance advisory services within the Public Service. The consultant will lead or support the development of privacy impact assessments for digital, online, cloud, and integrated technology solutions while ensuring alignment with provincial, municipal and private‑sector privacy legislation.
Scope
Lead or support the development of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new or evolving programs, technologies, or information systems.
Ensure compliance with FIPPA, MFIPPA, PHIPA, PIPEDA, and related regulations, directives, and internationally recognized Fair Information Practices.
Identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks, including those associated with digital platforms, cloud environments, and API‑based integrations.
Assignment Deliverables
Completed Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
Privacy risk analysis documents and mitigation frameworks
Data flow diagrams, business process artifacts, and assessment summaries
Presentations and briefings for management and executives
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Strong knowledge of FIPPA, MFIPPA, PHIPA, and PIPEDA.
Proven experience conducting and leading Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) involving personal information.
Demonstrated experience leading PIAs for digital, online, or cloud-based solutions.
Experience assessing privacy risks for third‑party solutions, including providers handling personal health information.
Technical understanding of security, encryption, APIs, backend integrations, and digital platforms from a privacy perspective.
Ability to interpret and analyze architecture diagrams, data flows, business processes, and policy documentation.
Nice to Have:
Professional certifications such as CIPP/C, CIPM, CISSP, or security/architecture credentials.
Experience delivering privacy education or training to business or technical teams.
Security Clearance
