About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and sustainment of large‑scale, enterprise‑grade digital solutions within a complex public‑sector environment. The successful consultant will apply strong expertise in J2EE, modern JavaScript frameworks, microservices, DevOps, and accessibility‑compliant web development, ensuring solutions align with standards, AODA / WCAG, and secure development best practices.

Scope

• Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using modern development frameworks and architectures

• Translate technical specifications into secure, tested, and maintainable solutions

• Support application deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle sustainment

• Collaborate across technical and business teams using Agile and Digital delivery methodologies.

Assignment Deliverables

• Application components and services developed using J2EE and modern JavaScript frameworks

• Secure, scalable microservices and REST‑based APIs

• Source‑controlled code with unit test coverage and deployment pipelines

• Accessibility‑compliant user interfaces meeting AODA / WCAG standards.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

• 10+ years of experience designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑client J2EE web applications

• Strong hands‑on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript / TypeScript

• Experience working with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or VueJS

• Experience developing and integrating Node.js‑based services

• Strong knowledge of SOA and microservices architecture

• Experience building and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services using JSON

• Proven experience working across the SDLC, including Agile and Digital methodologies

• Hands‑on experience with source control, DevOps, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps, Jira).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with UI/UX design principles and accessibility best practices

• Experience with OAuth 2, SAML, and other security protocols

• Experience working with relational and spatial databases.
