Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to support the design, development, integration, and sustainment of complex, enterprise‑scale applications within a public‑sector environment. The successful consultant will bring deep expertise in API development, microservices, Java‑based systems, and secure, scalable solution design, while adhering to Public Sector standards and AODA requirements.

Scope

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise‑grade applications and APIs

• Translate technical and business requirements into working, tested solutions

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices

• Troubleshoot, resolve, and provide technical support for application issues.

Assignment Deliverables

• Secure, scalable APIs and microservices

• Well‑documented, unit‑tested application code

• Source‑controlled solutions using modern DevOps practices

• Solutions aligned with Public Sector development standards and AODA requirements.

Expertise Required

Must Have:

• 10+ years of experience designing and developing large‑scale Java‑based applications with Oracle or SQL databases

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in API development, integration design, and implementation in enterprise environments

• Strong experience delivering API solutions using platforms such as IBM API Connect, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), MuleSoft, or Azure API Management (APIM)

• Proven experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures

• Solid understanding of security protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and SSL certificates

• Experience working in Agile development environments and using Azure DevOps.

Nice to Have:

• Hands‑on experience with middleware, integration gateways, or event‑driven architectures

• Oracle E‑Business Suite experience (GL, AR, AP, Collections, Inventory).
