Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist

    Our Ontario Government Client is looking for an experienced QA/Testing Specialist with a solid background in testing methodologies, accessibility standards, and defect management. This role requires expertise in manual and automated testing within both cloud-based and DevOps environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical, analytical, and communication skills to ensure high-quality deliverables and effective collaboration with stakeholders.

    Must Haves:

    • Experience with manual testing of RESTful and SOAP services

    • Experience in a DevOps environment

    • Experience with cloud-based environments

    • Understanding and testing experience with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

    • Experience in planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems

    QA/Testing Skills

    • Knowledge of testing methods in an object-oriented environment

    • Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices

    • Experience in AODA testing and related regulations

    • Experience in planning and organizing testing for various system sizes

    • Ability to code automated test scripts and generate automated test cases

    Business Analysis Experience

    • Experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications

    • Experience in a DevOps environment

    • Experience working in a cloud-based environment

    Technical Experience

    • Hands-on experience with Java-based UI and backend testing

    • Manual testing of RESTful and SOAP services

    • Proficient with SQL/PLSQL tools for data extraction and review

    • Skilled in using AODA testing tools (e.g., JAWS, NVDA)

    • Familiarity with vulnerability and performance load testing tools

    • Experience with automated test scripts using Katalon Studio or similar tools

    Defect Management Skills

    • Expertise in defect management, including using defect management tools (e.g., DevOps)

    • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities

    • Experience in Agile Scrum methodology and sprint management

    • Proficiency in defect tracking and testing lifecycle management using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools
