Your Role

Position: Senior UX Designer

Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.


About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking a highly skilled Senior UX Designer to support a large-scale digital transformation initiative focused on modernizing regulatory compliance services across the Public Service.

The successful consultant will lead user experience design activities for the development of a Common Compliance Management Platform (CCMP), a strategic enterprise platform designed to improve regulatory compliance services across multiple ministries. This role will drive human-centered design, user research, accessibility compliance, service design, and digital experience strategy while collaborating with product owners, business stakeholders, architects, developers, and Agile delivery teams.


Scope

  • Conduct user research, stakeholder engagement sessions, interviews, surveys, usability testing, and workshops.

  • Create personas, journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes.

  • Apply Ontario Design System standards and accessibility best practices (AODA/WCAG).

  • Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to translate business requirements into intuitive digital experiences.


Assignment Deliverables

  • Conduct stakeholder workshops, usability testing, user interviews, surveys, and validation activities.

  • Develop UX artifacts including personas, customer journey maps, service blueprints, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.

  • Deliver accessible digital experiences aligned with the Design System, AODA, and WCAG standards.

  • Collaborate with Agile teams to prioritize user needs, refine requirements, and support product delivery.


Expertise Required

Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience leading human-centered UX research and design for complex digital products and services.

  • Strong experience translating research findings into actionable design recommendations that improve usability, accessibility, and overall user outcomes.

  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end UX design, including personas, customer journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture, user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.

  • Experience designing solutions aligned with the Design System and accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG).

  • Strong experience collaborating with Product Owners, Business Stakeholders, Architects, Developers, and Agile delivery teams.

  • Hands-on experience creating wireframes and prototypes using Figma.

  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, Lean, or DevOps environments, including user stories, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and testing activities.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (or similar tools) and supporting public sector, or large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience implementing UX performance measurement frameworks and digital service KPIs.

  • Understanding of digital accessibility testing tools and inclusive design practices.
