SAP VIM Senior Consultant - Japan Rollout

About the Role

Our clinet is seeking an experienced SAP OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) Consultant to support the Japan rollout of its global SAP VIM program. The consultant will act as a hands-on VIM expert, helping the project team deliver a successful deployment, addressing functional and technical challenges, and ensuring alignment with the global template. The rollout is planned to go live in April 2027 and is part of the final VIM deployment within the DPS organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the SAP OpenText VIM implementation for the Japan deployment.


• Analyze and resolve VIM-related incidents, defects, and open issues.


• Perform fit-gap analyses and identify localization requirements.


• Ensure alignment between Japan-specific requirements and the global VIM template.


• Configure and support SAP VIM processes where required.


• Assist with testing activities, defect resolution, cutover, and go-live preparation.


• Work closely with business users, project teams, and global process owners.


• Support integrations with SAP S/4HANA and related procurement and finance systems.


• Provide expert guidance on VIM best practices and process optimization.


• Contribute to knowledge transfer and project documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM).


• Experience delivering SAP VIM implementation or rollout projects.


• Solid knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.


• Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.


• Ability to troubleshoot configuration, process, and integration issues.


• Experience working in global and multicultural project environments.


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Fluent English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Japanese business processes and localization requirements.


• Experience with OpenText VIM upgrades, enhancements, and support activities.


• Previous involvement in global template deployments.

• Location: Remote, preferably Europe-based due to time-zone alignment with the global project team

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior SAP VIM specialist with strong hands-on implementation experience who can immediately contribute to the Japan rollout. This person should be comfortable working independently, resolving complex VIM challenges, collaborating with international teams, and supporting the successful delivery of a critical SAP deployment
