IVVQ Software Test Engineer

We are looking for an IVVQ - Software Test Engineer to join Akkodis team in Hengelo, the Netherlands.

About the team

Within the Naval Engineering cluster, the Software Engineering department is responsible for, among other things, the development of Combat & Information Management Systems for naval vessels and their integration with sensor and weapon systems. These complex systems include advanced solutions for information processing, information management, user interaction, and sensor and weapon control. Our software thus provides essential support for missions ranging from counter-piracy to defense against long-range missiles.

For the Naval Engineering/Software department, Thales (Hengelo) is seeking talented and experienced software test engineers with a passion for technology and the ambition to pursue a career in a high-tech environment as a Software Test Engineer.

As a Software Test Engineer, you will work in a multidisciplinary and self-managing Agile/Scrum team. In addition to developing software products, our teams are fully responsible for numerous aspects such as requirements analysis, design, architecture, testing, validation, and regular product demonstrations.

Software development is based on Java and is supported by a modern development environment.

Candidate Profile

You are a talented and experienced Software Test Engineer who enjoys designing, developing, and testing complex Java software solutions.

With your analytical mindset, you know how to detect errors and analyze these problems together with the development teams. As a person, you are creative, open, and flexible, and you can operate as a team player. You are also results-oriented, demonstrate initiative, and communicate clearly.

You are a talented Software Test Engineer with extensive experience and a passion for testing complex software.

• You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• You have a background in test engineering and automation with Java, including associated development methods, tools, and frameworks.
• You are able to quickly master new domains and techniques.
• You are ISTQB certified, Security certification is a plus.
• You have knowledge and experience with test automation using Java and test methodologies such as Functional Testing, Exploratory Testing, Test Automation, and Unit Testing.
• Knowledge and experience with the following tools and techniques is essential: Linux, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven/Gradle, GIT, and CI/CD.
