The Project
Our client has assembled a talented and diverse international team to create the world’s first scalable quantum computing system. This innovative approach involves exciting advancements at every level, from qubit devices and quantum information planes to the quantum-classical interface and classical compute systems, extending all the way to system software, applications, and global services. This project aims to revolutionize computing and tackle some of humanity’s most complex challenges.
With key labs established globally, including locations in Europe and the US, the team is central to this groundbreaking quantum program, with responsibilities shared across these sites. Specifically, for their site in Delft, we are seeking a hands-on Quantum Hardware Support Engineer. You will join a global team of hardware engineers and support the measurement team in various capacities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload ESD-sensitive devices in cryogenic systems.
- Run preliminary health checks on loaded devices.
- Troubleshoot RF/DC measurement setups.
- Perform basic routine tasks on cryogenic systems, such as topping up liquid nitrogen traps and supporting maintenance operations.
- Write Python scripts for measurements.
- Check lab inventory and assist with the shipment of goods.
- Prepare documentation for hardware assembly instructions.
- Occasionally perform basic packaging tasks and quality control in the cleanroom.

Candidate’s Profile
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with measurement instruments such as VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, Lock-in Amplifiers, and Cryogenic Systems.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment.
- Proficiency in Python programming.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Valuable Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Familiarity with FEM tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics.
