Senior Infrastructure Architect (Snowflake Data Architect focus)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Architect (Snowflake Data Architect focus) to support and evolve the enterprise data platform of Vattenfall in Amsterdam.

In this role, you will act as a strategic technical leader, driving architectural excellence, cost efficiency (FinOps), governance, and platform optimization within a business-facing data/IT domain. You will align the Snowflake platform with enterprise data strategy while mentoring teams and advising senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership and subject matter expertise for the Snowflake data platform
• Review and improve the current Snowflake architecture in line with best practices
• Align the data platform with overall enterprise data strategy
• Optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency (FinOps principles)
• Implement and strengthen governance, security, and compliance standards
• Support data modelling, ingestion frameworks, and ELT/ETL design
• Advise stakeholders and guide technical direction across cross-functional teams
• Mentor data engineers and internal teams on Snowflake capabilities and standards

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Data or Infrastructure Architect
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (architecture and development)
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipelines
• Advanced SQL skills (ANSI + Snowflake)
• Experience with data modelling and data engineering
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Experience with cost optimization / FinOps within cloud data platforms
• Strong communication and advisory skills

• Modelling tools such as Archimate
• Nice to have: Snowflake ML, Azure ML, Snowflake Cortex AI
