    We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Physical Design Engineer to join the Physical Integration Center (PIC) of our client in Nijmegen. This team is part of the CTO Design Centre and plays a key role in delivering physical design expertise for a broad range of high-tech semiconductor applications. Spread across locations in the Netherlands, Sweden, and India, PIC is known for its high-impact physical design work in complex and advanced technologies.


    What you’ll be doing as a Senior Physical Design Engineer:

    You are responsible for delivering a fully verified physical design, from initial planning to tape-out, using the latest Cadence toolsets and processes. This includes:

    • Floorplanning, placement, routing (including top-level), physical verification, and final design finishing.
    • Managing the full physical design flow independently for a variety of applications and technologies.
    • Leading project activities including planning, documentation, design reviews, and progress monitoring.
    • Coordinating with and guiding fellow physical designers within a multi-location setup.
    • Participating in improvement initiatives, maintaining process and technology documentation.
    • Driving quality through peer reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing forums.


    What you need to be successful as a Senior Physical Design Engineer:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or a related field.
    • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in physical design, including complete ownership from block-level to top-level.
    • Strong command of Cadence Virtuoso tools and related physical design flows.
    • Experience in high-frequency or mmWave design is a strong plus.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • A proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to work in cross-functional, international teams.
