Body / Exterior DRE

Akkodis is seeking a Body / Exterior DRE for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, validation, and release of automotive bodies and exterior components throughout the full product lifecycle.

Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Body / Exterior DRE Responsibilities include:

• Lead the design, development, validation, and release of automotive body and exterior system components throughout the product lifecycle.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Suppliers, and Program Management to achieve program objectives.

• Create and maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and release data using Teamcenter, AVBOM/FEDE BOM, and WERS.

• Ensure designs meet quality, cost, weight, performance, regulatory, manufacturing, and assembly requirements.

• Support product validation, durability testing, prototype builds, vehicle launches, and engineering change management activities.

• Investigate and resolve technical issues using structured problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, and root cause analysis.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in automotive body/exterior systems development, with Design & Release engineering experience required.

• Proficiency with CAD tools, Teamcenter, Vismockup, AVBOM/FEDE BOM, and WERS, along with experience releasing automotive components.

• Strong understanding of automotive product development, validation testing, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
