Design Engineer - Medical Device

Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer - Medical Device for a Contract job with a client in Maple Grove, MN. Responsibilities include leading the design of embolic coils and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure clinical and regulatory success.

Rate Range: $50/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

 

Design Engineer - Medical Device job responsibilities include:

• Lead the design and development of innovative embolic coils, ensuring high performance and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Apply mechanical design principles to optimize product functionality while balancing competing technical and clinical requirements.

• Develop and execute comprehensive product development plans, including experimental design, prototyping, and validation testing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and regulatory affairs to ensure project alignment and success.

• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Interface with physicians and cath lab personnel to gather feedback and refine device performance based on clinical insights.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

• Years of Experience Required: 5–8 years with a bachelor’s degree, 3–6 years with a Master’s degree, 1–3 years with a Ph.D.

• Proven experience in mechanical design and development of medical devices, particularly embolic coils or similar implantable technologies.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clinical stakeholders.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $60.00 per hour
