As the Electrical Engineer (PE) you will share your expertise while designing technical solutions on power distribution and lighting systems for institutional, retail and commercial building projects. You work will involve the technical development of schematic, design, construction documents, specifications and construction administration.
Type: Direct Hire
Salary: 112k/annual – 135k/Annual
Location: Sacramento, CA / Denver, CO / Boise, ID (Can live in any of the three locations listed)
Job Responsibilities:
You should have the ability to perform detailed electrical power and control systems design with minimum supervision.
Your technical skills should show an awareness of effective system design and the ability to design and optimize a process for maximum efficiency.
Design electrical systems, including lighting and power distribution, for commercial and institutional building projects.
Researches and analyzes data to determine feasibility of design and application.
Develops and manages project scope, budgets, schedules, QA/QC reviews and client expectations ensuring that cost, customer service, quality, schedule and safety are incorporated into the design from commencement through completion.
Creates and edits designs, specifications, sketches and diagrams of electrical systems.
Performs and prepares engineering calculations including energy, load, photometrics, voltage drop, etc.
Constructs well-coordinated, technically sound construction documents that are cost-effective, clear, efficient and constructible.
Research non-routine code compliance issues and makes determinations of code interpretations consistent with local administrative authorities.
Performs field observations of electrical systems, attends meetings, and makes recommendations for design systems.
Construction administration including review of shop drawings, response to RFI’s, and coordination with contractors, design team, building officials, owner, etc. through the construction phase of the building project.
Meets client schedules and internal design and construction administration time budgets.
Produces effective and accurate written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
Communicates and coordinates with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, consultants, etc. throughout the design phases of the building project.
Coordinates the work of designers and engineers-in-training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer (PE)
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the engineering of electrical power systems
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other electrical standards
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications
Proficient in Revit
Familiarity with SKM or equivalent systems analysis program for evaluating electrical systems
Familiarity with low voltage systems (fire alarm, telecommunications, etc.)
