    Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Austin, TX(Hybrid). Responsibilities include racking, cabling, and provisioning Intel and AMD servers, as well as deploying and maintaining Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment.

    Rate Range: $49/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Rack, cable, and provision Intel and AMD servers for data center operations, ensuring proper installation and configuration.

    • Deploy and configure Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment, ensuring correct setup and network connectivity.

    • Perform hardware troubleshooting and quality assurance, resolving issues through trouble tickets and ensuring system functionality.

    • Install and configure operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux, and Unix to support server and infrastructure needs.

    • Manage data center activities including virtualization, infrastructure, and system provisioning, ensuring optimal performance.

    • Utilize scripting and basic hardware troubleshooting skills to maintain and improve system efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • 3–5 years of experience in data center operations, Linux system administration, and hardware troubleshooting.

    • Proficiency in operating system installation, including Windows Server, Linux, and Unix, along with experience in data center and virtualization environments.

    • Hands-on experience with Cisco Layer 2 networking equipment and a strong understanding of GPU/CPU infrastructure.

    Pay Details: $49.00 to $64.00 per hour
