    Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a contract with a client in Omaha, NE. Candidates must have hands-on experience planning and deploying Ciena NGO DWDM transport routes, with a strong ability to manage technical specifications and legacy infrastructure strategies.

    Rate Range: $37/hour to 49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Design and document deployment plans for Ciena NGO DWDM transport routes, including technical specifications and installation requirements.

    • Manage tactical planning tasks such as node expansions, audits, and equipment changes submitted by strategic planners.

    • Engineer hardware configurations for node expansions by assessing chassis slot availability and planning optimal setups.

    • Develop strategies for legacy infrastructure removal, minimizing service disruptions and aligning with network growth.

    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to validate designs and ensure successful deployment execution.

    • Maintain accurate records and tracking tools, updating netbuilds, audit findings, and planning documentation in accordance with internal standards.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.

    • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in optical network planning and deployment, specifically with Ciena DWDM technologies.

    • Proven ability to create and manage detailed planning packages for transport routes, node expansions, and legacy infrastructure removal.

    • Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams and vendors, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and deployment timelines.

    Pay Details: $37.00 to $49.00 per hour
