Engineering Specialist/ Automation Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineering Specialist/ Automation Engineer for a Direct Hire job with a client in Walton, KY. You will be part of the Industrial IT and Automation group in Central Engineering for aviation and aerospace parts manufacturing.

 

Rate Range: $68,000/year to $75,000/year plus 8% bonus eligibility; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

 

Engineering Specialist/ Automation Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Lead support and training of Company operations and maintenance personnel to assure thorough understanding of operation and troubleshooting of control systems.

• Assist in design and implementation of automation projects.

• Modify and update industrial software applications.

• Revision control of industrial software applications.

• Update and improve the industrial software documentation.

• Provide technical assistance to Operations/Maintenance.

• Maintain and revise Functional Analysis of automated processes.

• Support continuous improvement of automation systems.

 

Desired Qualifications:

• A candidate is eligible for the Automation Engineer position with a 4-year degree. The Engineering Specialist position requires a 2-year degree.

• Five plus years of experience in troubleshooting and writing code required in a manufacturing environment.

• Must be able to read blueprints and schematics

• Experienced with open and closed circuits

• Ability to work 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and possibly on-call when needed.

·         Experience with any combination of the following: Siemens PLCs/HMIs/Drives, Allen-Bradley PLCs/HMIs/Drives, ABB Distributed Control Systems (AC450, AC800, 800xA), ABB Robots, Fanuc Robots, Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence, others), CNC Controls (Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma), Data Historians/Storage (ABB, Wonderware, Siemens PH, SQL)

·         Some travel to training, supplier sites, and other Company facilities. Typical two to three weeks a year.
