    Akkodis is seeking a Facilities Power Design Engineer to join our client’s team in Monrovia, California to support their program with NASA’s Deep Space Network Team (DSN).

    Type: Direct/Permanent Hire
    Salary: 155k/annual – 200k/annual - Salary may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors
    Location: Remote
    Home Office: Monrovia, CA (Open to candidates in any state within the US)

    The candidate will assist in the planning, reviewing designs, analyzing, cost estimating, maintaining and overall technical direction of the subsystem in support of the DSN, Development, and Operations Office.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee all aspects of design, construction, acceptance testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of Power Distribution, Generation and Protection equipment.

    • Responsible for project design and implementation of repairing or replacing existing systems. The candidate may be expected to take the technical lead in the implementation of smaller projects involving research and coordinating with subcontractors to achieve project milestones.

    • Provide technical assistance and guidance to operations and maintenance personnel for issues on Power systems. Support facility, consultants and field technicians in different time zones as required and creating an analysis and resolution on system problems.

    • Support the DSN Engineering Change Management (ECM) Board in the development, evaluation and costing of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), the preparation and delivery of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) or Modification Kits (Modkits), and the troubleshooting, resolution and closure of Discrepancy Reports (DRs). 

    Qualifications:

    • Must possess a California Professional Engineering (PE) License

    • You have a B.S degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with an emphasis in Power Engineering

    • 8+ years of verifiable direct Facility Power Distribution design and field experience.

    • Knowledgeable with NEC Standards

    • Able to obtain a trusted background check and pass a National Criminal Information Check (NCIC). In order to obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship

    • Proven capability of working with minimal supervision

    • Able to multi-task, adapt to change quickly, and are an analytical thinker with detail orientation

    • Have experience with commissioning Power equipment (UPS, ATS’s, Generators, Switchgear, PLC’s, etc.)

    • Possess experience working with maintenance reports, trending analysis, and specifying equipment replacements.

    • Experience with troubleshooting Power system equipment and schematics, PLC logic and PID control diagrams.

    • *Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus but not required

    Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $200,000.00 per year
