    Akkodis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract job with a client in Rocky Mount, NC. The engineer will create and revise repair instructions and provide real-time support to technicians to improve process efficiency.

    Rate Range: $38/hour to 47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Mechanical Design Engineer job responsibilities include:

    • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or NX.

    • Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.

    • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and testing to validate product performance and reliability.

    • Support prototype development and troubleshoot design issues during testing and production phases.

    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the design process.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

    • Typically 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.

    • Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or NX.

    • Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).

    Pay Details: $38.00 to $47.00 per hour
