Prinicipal AgentOps Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Prinicipal AgentOps Engineer for a Contract with a client in Durham, NC. The candidate will be responsible for owning and architecting scalable, secure, and resilient agentic platforms across the AgentOps and AXIS ecosystem.

Rate Range: $60/hour to $64/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Prinicipal AgentOps Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Own and architect AgentOps and AXIS platform components, making independent decisions on scalability, resilience, security, and performance.

• Design, build, and optimize agentic workflows, orchestration, and lifecycle management for AI agent systems.

• Extend agent frameworks with robust planning, memory, tool usage, guardrails, and observability for safe, reliable autonomous execution.

• Develop and integrate graph-database–driven knowledge systems to enhance agent intelligence and platform capabilities.

• Lead hands-on engineering by writing and reviewing production-grade code, improving CI/CD pipelines, APIs, and internal tooling.

• Architect and operate cloud-native solutions on AWS, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and operational excellence while mentoring senior engineers.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical discipline.

• 10+ years of industry experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or systems engineering.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, and operating AI agent systems, including AgentOps, orchestration, and lifecycle management at scale.

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud architecture, distributed systems, and production-grade engineering, with the ability to make independent, high-impact architectural decisions.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
