    Akkodis is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a direct job with a client in Rome, NY. Must hold a Bachelors Level Degree in the Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or other related engineering discipline to be considered for this role. This position is responsible for leading, designing, implementing, controlling and optimizing industrial processes to meet/exceed the day-to-day and strategic initiatives, development of new and innovative processes and implementation of revised current processes in order to maximize flexibility and responsiveness in the market.  Works closely in a cross-functional setting with all Team Members while providing continuous feedback, ideas, and problem- solving analysis to support our strategic plans.

     

    Rate Range: $95/k. to $115/k.  The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    Manufacturing Process Engineer job responsibilities include:

    ·       Develop, test and optimize manufacturing and extrusion processes for new and existing products that reduce operating costs, reduce labor, reduce product variability and increase yields.

    ·       Provide engineering support to troubleshoot production processes, minimize downtime, achieve quality requirements, and maximize asset utilization.

    ·       Deliver tangible results in support of compilation and analysis of process data leading to development and implementation of new manufacturing processes or updates to existing processes.

    ·       Monitor and track equipment downtime and produce corrective actions. Lead root-cause-analyses where appropriate.

    ·       High involvement with equipment and raw material suppliers to solve problems and improve product quality.

    ·       Installation of new equipment, continual evaluation of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality remain high

    ·       Provide timely resolution of product, process and equipment problems in the form of creative short and long-term solutions.

    ·       Work with team members all across the manufacturing system including production staff, sales, management and even customers.

    ·       Identify project scope, determine what data needs to be collected, compile/analyze data, present recommendations/findings to the team, and lead the implementation.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    ·       Bachelors Level Degree in the Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or other related engineering discipline is required.

    ·       Minimum Three years related experience.

    ·       Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment.

    ·       Proficient in the following computer software applications: MS Office, Minitab, Solidworks or AutoCAD

    ·       Strong knowledge and experience with root cause analysis and corrective action.
