Security Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Security Engineer for a Direct Hire with a client in Cleveland, OH/ Columbus, OH/ Chicago, IL (Hybrid). The ideal candidate is responsible for strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity posture by engineering, deploying, and continuously improving endpoint, cloud, and data protection controls across the enterprise.

Salary Range: $110k/Annum to $140k/ Annum; The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Security Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and support security engineering initiatives including EDR deployments, vulnerability management, security automation, and system hardening.

• Lead threat detection, investigation, and incident response efforts using SIEM and related security monitoring tools.

• Own deployment, tuning, and ongoing management of DLP and CASB solutions (including Netskope DLP) to protect sensitive data across endpoints, cloud, and email.

• Assist in securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) by enforcing security architectures, policies, and best practices.

• Evaluate the organization’s security posture and provide risk-based recommendations aligned with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS.

• Support audits, compliance initiatives, and documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen overall security resilience.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering across multiple security domains.

• Proven experience with DLP and CASB technologies, with strong hands-on expertise in Netskope DLP.

• Solid understanding of cloud security and incident response, including experience within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
