    Akkodis is recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a manufacturer in the Mesquite TX area. This is an onsite direct hire position with a pay range of $70K annually to $90K annually, depending on education, experience and location.

    TOP REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Core Focus: Corporate tax expertise is essential — candidate must be able to lead corporate tax functions, including:

    • Tax audits

    • Tax strategies (quarterly and year-end)

    • Tax research and reporting

    • 3+ years of corporate accounting and tax experience required (5+ years preferred)

    • This is not a pure tax role;

    • candidate must also support: Month-end close

    • General ledger (GL) and journal entries

    • Budget month payables and day-to-day accounting tasks

    • CPA strongly preferred (CPA candidate acceptable)

    • Bachelor's degree required

      Preferred Skills:

    • Proficiency with tax research software preferred

    • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus due to familiarity with operations.


      The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of tax compliance, including federal, state, and local filings, as well as providing support across the full accounting lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency, and a deep understanding of tax regulations.

      Responsibilities: 

      Prepare and file federal, state, and local income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and other required tax filings.

      Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify tax planning opportunities.

      Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.

      Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.  

      Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.

      Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provisions.

      Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.  

      Assist with managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

      Perform general ledger maintenance and analysis.

      Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

      Support internal and external audits.

      Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

      Assist with all other accounting life cycle functions, if applicable.

      Perform bank reconciliations.

      Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures.

      Provide support and training to junior accounting staff.

      Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.

      Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes.

      Perform other duties as assigned.

      Required:

      Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

      Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on tax.

      In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations in a corporate setting.

      Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

      Advanced Excel skills.

      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

      Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

      Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.  

      CPA certification preferred.

      Master's degree in Taxation.

      Experience with tax research software.
