Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a Contract position with a client in Plymouth, MN. The ideal candidate will bring strong quality or packaging experience, exposure to Six Sigma, and the ability to lead projects and collaborate across cross‑functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Rate Range: $50.00/hour to $52.00/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Manufacturing Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet production schedules and quality objectives.

• Manage projects involving new production equipment, process improvements, and cost‑reduction initiatives.

• Support new product introductions (NPI) by collaborating with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.

• Conduct Process FMEAs and lead process validations.

• Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean manufacturing concepts.

• Coordinate the design, procurement, build, and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.

• Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

• Work effectively with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.

• Support Divisional initiatives aligned with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

• Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

• Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or equivalent experience preferred).

• Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and validation.

• Demonstrated project management experience.

• Lean manufacturing experience

• Six Sigma certification or formal training

• Experience with tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $52.00 per hour
