Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a Contract position with a client in Plymouth, MN. The ideal candidate will bring strong quality or packaging experience, exposure to Six Sigma, and the ability to lead projects and collaborate across cross‑functional teams in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Rate Range: $50.00/hour to $52.00/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Manufacturing Engineer job responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures to meet production schedules and quality objectives.
Manage projects involving new production equipment, process improvements, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
Support new product introductions (NPI) by collaborating with Product Development to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
Conduct Process FMEAs and lead process validations.
Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean manufacturing concepts.
Coordinate the design, procurement, build, and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.
Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Work effectively with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.
Support Divisional initiatives aligned with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or equivalent experience preferred).
Strong understanding of manufacturing process development and validation.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Lean manufacturing experience
Six Sigma certification or formal training
Experience with tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $52.00 per hour
