Software Engineer in Device Testing

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer in Device Testing for a Contract with a client in Austin, TX/Sunnyvale, CA. The ideal candidate specializes in end-to-end device testing, system validation, failure triage, and debugging across devices, backend services, and data pipelines.

Rate Range: $56/hour to $57/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Engineer in Device Testing Job Responsibilities include:

• Execute end-to-end (E2E) testing across devices, backend services, data pipelines, browser UI, and supporting systems to ensure product quality and reliability.

• Validate new device features and server-side platform changes, identifying defects and verifying functionality before release.

• Develop, maintain, and execute manual test scenarios while supporting system-level validation activities.

• Investigate test failures, analyze logs and telemetry data, and perform root cause analysis across distributed systems and integrations.

• Collaborate with engineering teams by providing detailed defect reports, reproduction steps, and diagnostic information to drive issue resolution.

• Independently triage issues and validate cross-system workflows involving devices, backend services, databases, and data pipelines before escalation.

 

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

• 8-10 years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, automation, and system validation.

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, Java, XCUI automation frameworks, and end-to-end testing across devices, backend services, and data pipelines.

• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and triage complex issues, analyze logs and telemetry, and validate distributed systems involving databases, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and data pipeline technologies such as Kafka and Spark.

Pay Details: $56.00 to $57.00 per hour
