    Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract job with a client in Plano, TX(Hybrid). Candidates must have hands-on experience supporting complex Mainframe environments, including LPAR/MIPS management and z/OS systems.

    Rate Range: $41/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    System Administrator job responsibilities include:

    • Provide support for complex mainframe environments, including z/OS, LPAR, and MIPS systems.

    • Manage mainframe incident and service requests, including system upgrades and tool migrations.

    • Perform mainframe backups and restores, including tape-based recovery processes.

    • Support mainframe datacenter migrations and infrastructure design initiatives.

    • Monitor and manage system capacity and performance, ensuring optimal resource utilization.

    • Collaborate with vendor partners to meet SLAs and enhance operational procedures and reporting.

    • Remotely administer and troubleshoot MIPS/LPAR configurations and performance issues.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

    • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mainframe system administration, with hands-on expertise in z/OS environments.

    • Proven experience in managing and supporting Mainframe LPARs, MIPS, and datacenter migrations.

    • Strong knowledge of mainframe backup and restore processes, including tape-based recovery, and experience with remote administration.

    Pay Details: $41.00 to $60.00 per hour
