Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Technical Architect for a Contract with a client in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will design and implement advanced control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, leveraging strong expertise in PLCs, HMIs, and motion control.
Rate Range: $43/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Technical Architect job responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated manufacturing equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and motion control platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, downtime, and quality problems to improve system reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Ensure all automation and control systems meet FDA, ISO, and GMP regulatory requirements for medical device operations.
Create, update, and maintain technical documentation while supporting equipment validation and adhering to change control processes.
Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and lead initiatives to implement new technologies that enhance manufacturing performance.
Support commissioning, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects while providing technical guidance and training to maintenance teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
6–8 years of experience in automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing equipment support.
Strong background in PLC programming, HMI development, and motion control systems (per client requirements).
Experience working within FDA, ISO, and GMP–regulated medical‑device manufacturing environments.

Pay Details: $43.00 to $47.00 per hour
