Akkodis is seeking a Technical Mainframe Lead for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX / Indianapolis, IN/ Boston, MA/ Seattle, WA /Portsmouth, NH. The ideal candidate is responsible for driving design, development, and technical excellence across mission‑critical mainframe applications.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $51/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Technical Mainframe Lead Job Responsibilities include:
Lead analysis, design, and development of mission‑critical mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2.
Define and enforce technical architecture standards while guiding complex solution design and implementation.
Manage, mentor, and provide technical direction to onshore and offshore mainframe development teams.
Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, performance, and best practices.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance through tuning and problem resolution strategies.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and QA teams to align requirements, testing strategies, and delivery objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
12–15 years of hands‑on experience in mainframe application development and technical leadership roles.
Strong expertise in IBM mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, IMS DB, and DB2, with hands‑on development experience.
Proven ability to lead and mentor development teams, define architectural standards, and communicate complex technical solutions to business stakeholders.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $51.00 per hour
