INSERM consolidates and modernizes applications to optimize internal processes

Client Name

INSERM
Founded in 1964, Inserm (Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale) is the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research. It is a public scientific and technological institute which operates under the joint authority of the French Ministries of Health and Research. The institute is dedicated to biomedical research and human health and is involved in the entire range of activities from the laboratory to the patient’s bedside. It also partners with the most prestigious research institutions in the world that are committed to scientific challenges and progress in these fields

Business Challenges

INSERM needed to enhance their careers engagement and simplify their existing evaluation procedures. A few of the institute’s applications no longer met their needs and stringent security and regulatory requirements. This was critically important, as those applications were dealing with assessment, maintenance, and competition processes. INSERM reached out to us to assist them in addressing this challenge.

Our Solution

We reviewed their existing ecosystem and realized that they had applications which shared functions and audiences that could be consolidated. We decided to consolidate five of their applications into one solution, ensuring the teams were aligned across:

  • Functional and design specifications
  • Technical design
  • Development
  • Data recovery
  • Change management.
Technologies used:
  • Angular
  • J2EE
  • JBPM
  • Jahia
  • MySQL
Results
We dedicated 2,500 man-days of development and we successfully created one solution to replace their internal applications. Our solution integrated two web portals, a Business Process Management tool and two enterprise data management software solutions. This significantly improved the experience for the client’s end users and simplified access to our client's services.
