Our client is a Japanese leading aerospace manufacturer. It designs, develops, produces, and sells space and defense products including rocket systems and satellite propulsion systems. The company employs nearly 1,000 people, massively invests in R&D, and is an active contributor to space science by developing scientific observation rockets, practical satellite launch vehicles, and defense rockets.

While many countries are increasing their competitive advantage in the aerospace industry, Japan is experiencing a decline in profitability. Facing these circumstances, the client chose Akkodis to help them develop new business and increase their added value by providing consulting services for them. Starting this project, Akkodis team found out that the insufficient market research and the lack of clarification on the resources and available technologies within the company had led to a stagnated business development. Also, the client’s customers and their needs had not been identified, which added to decreasing in the profitability of their existing business.

Results
These activities were originally commissioned to another consulting firm, but the client switched to Akkodis as we excelled in our performance during the initial phase of a project with a larger scope. The afore-listed tasks were part of another phase of the client’s project, earning € 95,000 consulting fee for our company. The contract will continue in the future. Akkodis team completed the assignment for determining our client’s new business opportunities along with the technologies that were going to be used. Based on our proposals, the client and our engineers continue together with the research and development initiatives for the client’s business growth.
