AS/400 Application Developer

    Akkodis is seeking an AS/400 Application Developer for a contract with a client in Nashville, TN(Remote). Candidates must have hands-on experience with RPG programming, DB2, and AS400 system monitoring to be considered for the role.

    Rate Range: $57/hour to 60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

     

    AS/400 Application Developer job responsibilities include:

    • Understand and maintain AS/400 applications, including their business purpose, architecture, and integration with upstream/downstream systems.

    • Develop and troubleshoot RPG code modules, including customized routines and error-prone components.

    • Document and manage AS/400 environments (Production, Pre-prod, Test, Dev), OS levels, and DB2 database versions.

    • Support system monitoring and housekeeping processes, including log management and performance tracking.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as SOX and HIPAA and maintain documentation for audit readiness.

    • Coordinate with L2/L3 support and infrastructure teams, acting as a key point of contact for issue resolution and system updates.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

    • Minimum 5+ years of experience working with AS/400 systems, RPG programming, and DB2 databases.

    • Must be able to work in the EST timezone and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    • Strong understanding of AS/400 architecture, environment setup, and compliance requirements such as SOX or HIPAA.

    Pay Details: $57.00 to $60.00 per hour
