Position: Intermediate Systems Testing / QA Specialist
Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite/Hybrid: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

This position is provisionally Onsite/Hybrid, requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.
About the Engagement
Akkodis is seeking an experienced Intermediate Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support quality assurance and testing activities for large-scale enterprise applications across web, cloud, mobile, and integrated technology environments.
The successful consultant will play a key role in planning, designing, executing, and reporting on testing activities while collaborating closely with project teams, business analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders. The role requires expertise in manual and automated testing, defect management, test planning, and quality assurance processes across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery environments.
Scope
Design, develop, and execute comprehensive testing strategies and test plans.
Perform functional, integration, regression, system, usability, performance, and user acceptance testing.
Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to develop test cases and test scripts.
Create, manage, and maintain test data and testing environments.
Assignment Deliverables
Test strategies, test plans, and testing schedules.
Functional, regression, integration, system, performance, usability, and UAT test cases.
Test scripts and automated testing artifacts where applicable.
Test execution reports and defect tracking documentation.
Defect analysis and resolution recommendations.
Expertise Required
Must Have:
Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Certification in Software Quality Engineering or an equivalent credential is considered a strong asset.
Minimum of 4 years of experience performing testing for large-scale applications, including on-premises, web solutions, cloud-based integrations, and mobile platforms.
Strong experience in executing test cycles, analyzing results, and managing the full defect lifecycle using tools like OpenText ALM, OpenText Octane, JIRA, X-Ray, Confluence, etc.
Strong understanding of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Waterfall, Agile (Scrum), and Hybrid environments.

o Regression Testing
o System Testing
o User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Nice to Have:
Software Quality Engineering certification or equivalent quality assurance certification.
Experience conducting API testing.
Experience performing accessibility testing, including AODA compliance validation.
Security Clearance
